Finding the Best Hosting Services

We have been a web designers and Internet developers for over 15 years. Most of the clients we have dealt with over the years have little or no interest in technology and view websites as a necessary component in today’s business world. Wouldn’t it be great if websites were created magically? Yeah it would, but I don’t know of any designers that were trained at Hogwarts so don’t hold your breath.
We try to assure our risk adverse customers that websites and blogs are easier than ever to setup and maintain, but they don’t really believe us. Let’s face it, the “Dot Bomb,” still has many people skiddish when it comes to creating a killer website and/or online app. Too many businesses were price gouged for mediorce sites years ago and we are still paying for the sins of the past.
Our motto is “Keep it Simple.” If you are a newbie, it can be overwhelming absorb all the various components at once. So just don’t do that. There are four key components to building a successful site:
- A domain name
- A web hosting plan
- A website or blog design
- Content for the website or blog
Most newbies get stuck on the procuring the domain name and web hosting plan. In reality, these first two step are the easiest part of the process and regardless of whatever web hosting company you select, a customer service or technical support person can walk you through the process.
Once you go through the steps, you’ll realize that it was only the “unknown” fear factor that was messing with your head. I promise, you don’t have to be a geek or freak to setup a website. Work with a host provider that will hold your hand through the process. If they are jerks, just hang up and find another because there are lots of good one. In fact, we give you a whole list of our favorites for you to consider.
We also feature periodic teleseminars to answer your website and blogging questions so check back often for upcoming calls and other events.
This is one of my favorite topics and I could keep going, but the before we go further get a domain name and select a hosting company. In upcoming posts we’ll tackle the topics of design and content.
